Select Karen's Workshop by 'Choosing an Event' for the 'Instructor-Led Event (Hands-On Session) Live Event' on HealthStream
You must search for Karen's workshop with the location you are attending on the 'My Events' page. Karen's workshops are labeled 'NRP - IRN - [workshop city, state]. The title must be searched exactly, including dashes and spaces. Ignore the incorrect workshop time (this is due to time zone settings in HealthStream). If you can't find it, be sure your date range is correct. (Watch video below for specific search instructions.)
On HealthStream, you MUST 'Choose an Event' for the 'Instructor-Led Event (Hands-On Session)', before attending Karen's workshop. You cannot receive your NRP card if you forget this step.
After attending Karen’s workshop, log into HealthStream and complete an evaluation for Karen’s class. (You'll receive an email from us when the evaluation is available.) After submitting the evaluation, you'll be able to access your eCard.
5. NOTES ABOUT THE NEW AAP/NRP REGISTRATION PROCESS:
AAP/NRP has created a new registration process which includes a new online exam for the 7th edition, eSim, online evaluations, and registration Karen's workshop (AAP calls it 'Instructor-Led Event') via HealthStream. It is quite involved and takes more time to complete than the old online exam.
Please plan on a minimum of 6-10 hours to go through the whole registration process including the online exam, eSim, evaluation, printing the 'CE Certificate' and selecting Karen's workshop as your 'instructor-led event'. Does not include the time required to read all 11 chapters.
Please take the time to view Karen's video. She takes you all the way through the new process, including accessing your eCard after completing her workshop. (View Video Below)
Refund policy due to not following directions. If you need the card and do not register on HealthStream ahead of time, you will not be able to add yourself later. You are more than welcome to take the workshop but without prior registration on HealthStream you will not receive the card. If you choose not to take the class because you did not follow directions you will get a 50% refund.
* The Neonatal Resuscitation Textbook 7th Edition Pg. xii states that Completion Does Not Imply Competence. “The Neonatal Resuscitation Program is an educational program that introduces the concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation. Completion of the program does not imply that an individual has the competence to perform neonatal resuscitation. Each hospital is responsible for determining the level of competence and qualifications required for someone to assume clinical responsibility for neonatal resuscitation.”
