1988 - Became a Texas Licensed Midwife
Hired at Maternidad La Luz, a high volume birth center on the Texas-Mexico border
1988 - Staff Midwife and Trainer, Maternidad La Luz
1991 - Became a AAP/NRP Instructor
Began teaching AAP/NRP, to Spanish speaking midwives, Texas
1992 - Promoted to Quality Assurance Director, Maternidad La Luz
1993 - Promoted to Clinical Director, Maternidad la Luz
1996 - Became a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM)
1998 - Elected as Chair of Complaint Review Process, Texas Department of Health, Midwifery Board

1997 - Created and began teaching Midwifery Management of Neonatal Resuscitation (MMNR)
